If I were you I would start making your own cannonballs for it if you do decide to get one, with an average cost of around gp each they will cut through your money in no time even after you consider the k expense of buying it.
I never did get around to timing it but you will easily burn through k in about an hour, without making that much money to cover the expense and other costs of getting where you want to be as well as food and armours and potions you really should think it through.
