Of course, this tabloid fodder was "categorically not true," as Hatcher herself later said in an interview with KTLA. While her lawyer and publicist had already told the gossip rag that the report was untrue a couple weeks prior, she said, "They went and ran it anyway. And that is even more egregious that it was so purposefully hurtful. Lending her voice to the MeToo movement and Time's Up initiative in Hollywood, Hatcher used this ordeal to highlight how tabloids have a tendency to attack women.
While Teri Hatcher has spent much of her post- Desperate Housewives career out of the limelight, fans might find solace in the fact that Hatcher, for one, doesn't seem too concerned about maintaining her A-lister fame. What is your purpose? What are you passionate about? No matter what the future may hold for Hatcher, there's no doubt she has her priorities straight and will continue take on Hollywood on her own terms — which only makes us more excited to see what she does next!
Was Teri Hatcher's bad rep justified? Teri Hatcher put on her chef's hat YouTube. The Odd Couple fell flat. Teri Hatcher's villainous turn on Supergirl was short-lived. The biggest thing that everyone has been talking about this week is that Teri was left off the card for the gift to the crew from all the actresses. Teri doesn't care about anyone but Teri. I think you will start to see this. You want to hear a million Teri Hatcher stories?
Go get Dean Cain drunk. Labels: Desperate Housewives , Teri Hatcher. Yeah right Interesting to hear that she's the worst, but I'm sure that none of the leading women are a picnic to be around.
Except maybe Felicity I'd like to think she's a kind person. Sweet, it aint just women!! I worked with a bunch of men and they were the same way!! I think its human nature!! For some reason, it's not hard to believe that she can be difficult and unpleasant. The Hollywood Reporter has speculation that she may have had problems with the others because she came onto the show with more Mojo than they did, and I imagine she probably didn't want to be "one of the girls.
She used to say she was grateful that they took on a washed-up has-been, so who knows. I do think there were problems between her and everyone else, though. That makes total sense. No surprise there! She's all kinds of crazy. She even tried to do a faux romance with Gaycrest. Was she even invited to Eva's wedding in Paris? This sounds very mean girlish. I find it hard to believe she was the only one with an attitude.
And let's face it, when the show started, she was the most recognizable one well, except Bree, who was on Melrose Place. It was because Teri Hatcher and Dean Cain could not stand to work with eachother, so they tried to keep the two actors as separate as possible. I'm sure she's not as bad as the one that got fired and sued.
God they're like a bunch of teenagers. They've all been passive aggressive about her in the press for years do I'm not surprised its all coming out now. I'd like to hope that Felicity is nice though.
I dunno gang, I think there is a whole lot of truth to this. It seems the other 3 are pretty tight. None of hem are actually friends. Friendly, yes. But run in the same circle friends, absolutely not.
None of the women will be spending time together, nor did any of them want to do press together regarding the finale. Don't read too much into this one. Okay, I'm a big Scott Bakula fan, and I was reading recently about his appearance on DH recently and he mentioned that back in the day, when she was just a baby, Marcia Cross did an episode of "Quantum Leap," and it was great to work with her again, yadda yadda.
TV Guide has a good honest? Teri is missing from nearly every picture. There's also a rather cryptic quote from Teri paraphrasing here "I will never tell what really went on, but I do wish the other women well. In , Celebuzz shared the card that was attached to gifts the Desperate Housewives cast got for crew members to commemorate the end of the series.
According to the card, the present was from Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, and Vanessa Williams, who joined the show for the last two seasons. A production source told Celebuzz , "The girls don't get along with Teri [Hatcher] so they organized this and left her out. Hatcher told Daily Mail , "I don't really know who gave or did what. I know what I did and I can look in the mirror at myself in a good way about the people I worked with and how much respect I had for them.
In addition to not being a part of that gift, Hatcher reportedly skipped the final Desperate Housewives press day, according to HuffPost. She said, "What I would and have always said is that the show, while it took many happenings to miraculously make it the success it was — the writing, the time of airing, the director, all that stuff — it was really the four of us in the beginning that just had some sort of magical chemistry," referring to Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, and Felicity Huffman, who were on the show from the beginning.
Hatcher claimed that she had "never ever wished any of them anything but greatness and will continue to do that. She added, "What I will say is that, although she was a late addition, Vanessa Williams and me are pretty good friends. In fact, she was the one who just set me up on a blind date, the first date I've had in two-and-a-half years. I've never seen Season 8. That show stunk stank? It did stink. It sucked. I watched it and I tried to like it, but there was nothing likable about it.
I recently rewatched from start to finish on Hulu. It took me about 6 weeks. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, except when Tom. One of the side effects of a long, lingering run for a series and decline in quality : I have no burning need to see the lead actresses in anything, anytime soon. Perhaps ever again. Being a huge Teri Hatcher fan, I was hooked from the jump. I felt like it appealed to more conservative tastes, despite the campiness. As many have pointed season 1 was excellent and it should have ended after it.
It became stupid drama with cheap jokes. No good storylines after the first season. Can it give you brain damage? Agree with those saying season 1 was a masterpiece, so much effort clearly went into all aspects and the acting was terrific. Season 2 blew it's load too soon, making control freak Bree an alcoholic and sending the only actual desperate housewife Lynette back to work. The mystery was deadly dull mainly because it involved new characters with no connection to the lane.
Season 3 went back to the style of the first season with a mystery Bree's new husband Orson threatening the safety of the women. Due to Marcia's this was brought too quickly to a banal ending and the season languished for a few more episodes doing little. Another reason, imo, that the quality faded is that became less of an ensemble show and more of a show about 5 different women who sometimes interacted.
Obviously real life feuds and egos came into play, but Susan moving away from Wisteria Lane and not having much contact with the other three was dreadful. It happens a lot with shows that start out with a big group in season one that everyone loves and then that group splits up in subsequent seasons. The Walking Dead suffered from that, and Stranger Things has as well.
In season one all the women had their own side stories but there was one major plot that brought them together and made it a cohesive plot. But I liked Bree's storyline about her battle with alcoholism and her two spoiled kids. Growing up, my parents who were pretty affluent divorced. It was just my mom and me. We have a relationship like Andrew and Bree in some ways. Season 1 is about as perfect a season of television as you'll ever find.
I've yet to watch the final season. I've heard it's terrible. That first season, though At the time, it was huge and it's hard to even explain just how big it was. Everyone was watching it. I'm surprised Eva Longoria's career hasn't gone as far as I thought it would. She had terrific comic timing. I've been rewatching it on Hulu and she keeps impressing me the most. She makes a selfish character like Gabby really likable and relatable. Not many could do that.
I agree Eva was terrific. Killing Rex at the end of season 1 was shocking and made for a great finale but really left Bree adrift in season 2 until they brought in Orson. R30 Yeah, but Bree falling apart is great.
I remember that scene when Lynette put all the wine bottles on Bree's driveway to show just how much she was drinking. That scene sticks with me. This show is the epitome of the phrase jumping the shark well, I guess besides Happy Days from which the term derives.
The last season is one of the most embarrassingly bad series of episodes in network TV drama history. I'm sorry: I don't think I understood one word of this.
Can some native English speaker translate what this poster actually meant to say? Kimberly Shaw on Melrose. I loved when Bree left Andrew at the side of the road in season 2. I loved sociopath Andrew, but then I liked the way he grew out of it and became a tolerable and even rather good soon son to his mother. It just couldn't compete with the greatness of season 1. Season 3 came close to recapturing that magic, but the big twist was revealed so early because Marcia Cross was pregnant and couldn't film for the full duration of the season, which left the last few episodes a little directionless and without much suspense or intrigue.
I was on the fence about it at the time, but it was much stronger this time around and Dana Delaney was great as Bree's bitchy nemesis with a secret and that evil child of Tom's was great. Sheridan also alleged in her lawsuit that Cherry was abusive to other actors and writers on the show. ABC said in a statement that they had investigated similar claims made by Sheridan and found them to be of no merit. At the end of , Sheridan removed abuse claims from the suit.
The case finally went to trial in February On March 13, , the judge dismissed the battery charge against Cherry due to lack of evidence, and Cherry was no longer a defendant in the lawsuit which then focused solely on Sheridan's alleged wrongful termination by ABC. By March 19, , the twelve members of the jury had failed to reach a verdict and a mistrial was declared.
A retrial was scheduled to begin on September 10, , but on August 16, , the Los Angeles Court of Appeal determined that Sheridan had not been wrongfully fired and dismissed the retrial.
Why was the last season so horrible? But it seem here it is without a doubt the worst season? I loved season one but like Twin Peaks, once the initial mystery was over, nobody cared. The show did go on and it had a talented cast, but Teri being a huge cunt, the rest of them trying to cope with her cuntiness and their own issues, started to show. I watched every episode from first to last. I recently watched some episodes on Prime and was surprised how good the first season was.
The second and third seasons sucked balls. Killing off Edie Britt was a terrible idea. The last three seasons are virtually unwatchable. I was at a press event when it was announced that the show was done.
All the women were there. Marcia, Eva, and Felicity all had a variation of the same story about them all calling each other when they got the news. This went on with all three of them. At no time did anyone say they were either called by Teri nor did they call her. I almost pushed and asked about Teri, but I focused on celebrating the show, not giving space to someone who likely wasn't a team player.
This premiered with Lost and both were huge hits with great first seasons and then spiraled out of control. I found Mary Alice's narration increasingly hard to take -- she delivered every line as if it were So Wicked and Naughty, with a cat-that-ate-the-cream quality of self-satisfaction.
The wink-wink-nudge-nudge music that saturated every episode was unbearably pleased with itself too. This show is proof that homosexuality is gender dysphoria. So many gay men have an obsession with rich white women. Most of theses gay guys become trans. They all truly believe every woman is out there living some type of diva fantasy. A gay TV writer once told me that for a gay man it's easier to write sassy women characters and get away with it aka getting it on the air than writing sassy gay men.
Gay men have always written for big, loud, sassy women. Mae West recognized the unique gifts of gay men having been mentored by one and collaborated with and even wrote about gay men in theatre before becoming a film star. It's not exclusive, though.
